PHOENIX, Ariz. – May 25 – Realty Executives International just announced the launch of Homeworks™, a marketing initiative being piloted in Maricopa County to help make teachers more aware of special loan programs that exist for educators in the hopes of helping teachers achieve dreams of homeownership.
Because teachers have such a huge impact on our society, Realty Executives International has created this program to inform the consumer public about various types of loan options available for this specific population. According to a study conducted by the American Federation of Teachers two years ago, teachers in Arizona earn an average of just $42,324 and, last year, salaries did not increase with inflation. Based on information from the Arizona Housing Commission and the Arizona Republic, homeownership typically requires that a household have a full-time income of $30 an hour to be able to afford a median priced home in the Metropolitan Phoenix area. This helps to explain the struggle that many educators encounter when trying to purchase homes in this market where they typically make significantly less.
“Our goal in creating this program is quite simply to help facilitate homeownership in the educator population,” said Rich Rector, president and CEO of Realty Executives International. “Even though teachers have such a large effect on the future of our country, our society has chosen not to compensate them well enough to afford housing easily. Helping teachers buy homes with fewer roadblocks and in areas closer to their schools is how our company can help with this dilemma.”
Here in the Metropolitan Phoenix area Realty Executives’ Homeworks has teamed up with First American Title Company and Desert Heritage Mortgage to provide additional title and mortgage offerings that further discount services for educators.
By taking advantage of the special mortgage products and initiatives highlighted by the Homeworks™ program, teachers are afforded the opportunity to purchase a home more easily, or refinance existing homes at better terms.
